Fri, February 2, 2007 - 11:02 AMI just heard part of the interview! It was great to hear that Belly Dancers of Color where given time on the radio show. It is very important to stress the importance of belly dance as it relates to women of color. The health benefits are wonderful! Congratulations to Dr. Sunyata Amen!

Old Michael Baisden had a broadcast back in December where he classed belly dancers and burlesque all into the same category. Wished I had been able to call in, but was driving and don't own a cell phone. :( -

I've gotten two calls from Cleveland one wanting to take lessons and another for a party, both said that they heard about the BOCA website from the show and were looking for dancers in Ohio. I'm the only one listed in Ohio, so if there are any Cleveland teachers or performers out there pm me and I'll get you the info.

Michael Baisden has exhibited a lot of ignorance in regards to belly dancing in the past, which is why I am so glad that Sunyatta was able to clear up that misconception for him and his listeners. His show is syndicated nationwide and we can’t have the sacred art of belly dance compared to burlesque. The show was great!
